Speak Out Superior: Embrace Your Voice

April 26, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This year, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) celebrates its 17th anniversary with the theme “Embrace Your Voice.”  Our community’s annual “Speak Out Superior” event is proud to embrace this theme, encouraging survivors and allies to use their voices (through spoken word, artwork, poetry, or whatever form of expression feels like the best fit) to promote safety, respect and equality.

Come to the WITC Conference Center Thursday, April 26th, from 5 to 8 p.m. to hear a multitude of voices and consider adding yours! Event is FREE and open to the public.

Event features include:

  • “What Were You Wearing” Display — including an Ojibwe Jingle Dress and pieces worn by victims of war crimes

  • Survivor Art Exhibition

  • Drum Circle

  • Free Childcare! provided by WITC-Superior’s Early Childhood Education students

  • Refreshments provided by Thrivent Financial
