Volunteer Opportunities At Casda

Volunteers are a vital part of Casda’s work! Whether you want to work directly with individuals and families, support events, or help behind the scenes, there are many ways to get involved. Our volunteers bring unique skills, compassion, and energy to our mission. Every role makes a meaningful difference, from answering calls to helping with childcare or transportation. Fun fact: Several current staff members began their Casda service as volunteers!

Volunteering with Casda is a rewarding way to give back, connect with others, and support individuals and families in our community. If you’d like to learn more, explore additional volunteer opportunities, or have an idea for how to help, feel free to contact our Community Engagement Coordinator, Mollie, at mollie@casda.org.

Office Assistance

Welcome clients and visitors, help accept and organize donations, prepare mailings, tidy up the welcome center, and assist with projects as needed. With extra training, office volunteers may also help answer calls on our help line.

Child Care

Offer on-site care for children of all ages during support group sessions, outreach appointments, or when parents need a short break. Volunteers also help plan and lead fun activities for children staying in the shelter. If no children are present, volunteers may assist with other tasks.

On-Call Advocacy

Provide support to individuals seeking medical care after hours. This role requires your own car, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance (mileage reimbursement is available). Volunteers complete about 40 hours of advocacy training, plus attend occasional meetings and check-ins at Casda.

Shelter Support

Help shelter staff by answering crisis calls, supporting residents, and assisting with cleaning, organizing, and office tasks as needed.

Transportation Assistance

Help transport clients to important appointments or when moving in or out of the shelter. Volunteers use their own vehicle (mileage reimbursement available) and may be asked to attend meetings to stay connected and informed.

Fundraising Support

Join staff in planning and supporting events like our annual Golf Tournament or New Year’s Eve Gala, as well as other fundraising activities and drives.

Public Relations & Community Outreach

Assist with organizing and promoting events, help spread awareness about CASDA’s services, or speak to groups and attend community events on our behalf.
