Celebrating 30 years of service in our community, the Center Against Sexual & Domestic Abuse, Inc. (CASDA) is committed to helping adults and children hurt by abuse enhance their safety and self-sufficiency. CASDA makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of community members each year.
If you are seeking an exciting, challenging experience, and if you have a passion to help others, CASDA is the place for you! We are currently hiring Shelter Advocates.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing advocacy and supportive services to residents of CASDA’s emergency
shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse - Providing crisis intervention for callers to CASDA’s 24-hour helpline
- Assisting with upkeep of the Emergency Shelter facility.
To ensure 24-hour care, Shelter Advocates must be flexible and willing to work all scheduled shifts. However, shelter advocates sign up for shifts that work best for them — this is a flexible, part-time position well suited to individuals with other commitments, such as school or a job that falls mainly during regular business hours!
CASDA seeks candidates with course work in Social Work, Human Services or a related field and/or at least one year experience working with victims of domestic and/or sexual violence.
