Children’s Advocate starts new support group

CASDA is offering a free and confidential Expect Respect Support Group that will provide an intensive prevention program for female teens who have been exposed to violence or abuse at home, or in their dating relationships.  Support groups have been found to provide an emotionally safe environment, allowing members to discuss personal and often painful experiences without fear of being judged, ridiculed, or subjected to gossip and rumors.  CASDA’s Children’s Program Coordinator, Alexa Connolly, will utilize creative activities to help group members explore and express their feelings about past abuse, as well as learn healthy relationship skills.  Participants must be screened before attending.  Call Alexa Connolly at CASDA for more information or to sign up.

Groups will run on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM starting February 5th until May 7th. Snacks will be provided and participants will be eligible to win a Kindle Fire upon the completion of group.
